The Temporary Accommodation and Move On Team provides temporary accommodation for homeless households including singles, couples and families. We are responsible for organising emergency accommodation placements and pathways into more suitable accommodation.

This is a quick summary of our situation and how it has changed for the better since our time at the short-term accommodation and resettlement (STAR) project run by Cornwall Housing to provides short-term accommodation and then support people to move on to live independently.

Our team Navigators are there to support those with multiple and complex needs throughout their journey off the streets and into independence. We are there as one single point of contact for all agencies involved and to help coordinate the support surrounding the search for somewhere safe to stay.

I’m Charlotte, a prevention and engagement officer working for Cornwall Housing for a little over a year now and this role is equally as challenging as it is rewarding. We are faced with families, couples, single and young people, from all walks of life, at one of the most stressful and worrying times of their lives.

Looking for volunteers 
Prevention and Engagement


Together with Groundswell UK and Health for Homeless we’re looking for volunteers to join our homeless health advocacy team. We will work with anyone who has experience of homelessness and rough sleeping and train you to become peer mentors.

Working to tackle homelessness with Salvation Army Housing Association

Freshstart 200

St Austell’s FreshStart centre, run by The Salvation Army Housing Association, is now housing people who have been sleeping rough or would otherwise be homeless over the autumn and winter months.

Rough sleepers across Cornwall will receive outreach support thanks to Addaction

Addaction 200

Addaction Cornwall provide drug and alcohol support in Cornwall and will now, together with Cornwall Housing, have a team of outreach workers to engage and support some of Cornwall’s most vulnerable people currently living on the street.
