Safeguarding Adults

We are committed to protecting adults at risk and ensuring their welfare is a top priority. Cornwall Housing has robust safeguarding arrangements in place and works closely with other agencies to reduce the risk of harm and abuse. Our approach includes:

  • Complying with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Care Act 2014;
  • Making safeguarding personal and acting in the best interests of each resident;
  • Ensuring that safeguarding is embedded across all our services, including contractors, partners, and volunteers;
  • Working in partnership with other organisations to promote safety and wellbeing.

 

Safeguarding Children and Young People

We recognise that safeguarding children and young people is everyone’s responsibility. As a housing and support provider, Cornwall Housing plays an important role in promoting the wellbeing of children and protecting them from harm. We are committed to:

  • Working with children, parents, carers, and other agencies to improve outcomes;
  • Fully implementing local multi-agency child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures, in line with the Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004;
  • Ensuring all teams and individuals consider safeguarding in their day-to-day work.

 

Our commitment

At Cornwall Housing, safeguarding is a shared responsibility. Every employee, partner, contractor and volunteer has a role to play in keeping our customers safe. We aim to provide a safe, supportive environment where all residents, especially those most vulnerable, are protected and supported.

You can make a safeguarding referral out of hours to Cornwall Council for any person of any age.

Out-of-hours times are:

  • After 5.15pm Monday to Thursday

  • After 4.45pm on Fridays

  • At weekends and on bank holidays

  • Before 8.45am on working days
