Community spirit saves lives at Pellymounter

Thanks to their hard work and determination, a brand-new defibrillator has now been installed on the outside of the HUB, right at the heart of the estate. Until now, the nearest defib was several minutes away - but with this new addition, help is now close at hand, offering peace of mind to both our tenants and the wider estate residents.

All Havencare staff are fully trained to use the device, ensuring it’s ready to help in an emergency. Over the past year, the team has been busy fundraising to not only purchase the machine but also to set aside reserves for its ongoing maintenance - showing real foresight and commitment to their community’s wellbeing.

Scheme Management Officer Pamela Parr said: “It was a proud moment to be invited to the event, where I joined Havencare’s senior manager to formally ‘open’ the defibrillator. A few photos from the day capture the smiles, the teamwork, and the strong sense of community spirit that made this possible.”
