Our procurement contractor, EEM, has provided funding to support Cornwall Housing residents through their Social Value Fund, which aims to deliver positive change to local communities.
EEM’s funding meant residents Darren and Rhys could transform their overgrown communal area at Ridgegrove Estate in Launceston. They were able to purchase materials to paint the fencing and masonry, level the paving slabs to improve accessibility and safety, and to add plants and flower boxes to bring a splash of colour to the area. Thanks to EEM’s support and Darren and Rhys’ hard work, Ridgegrove residents now have a bright and inviting outdoor space they can enjoy.
This isn’t the first community donation from EEM. They also provided funding to help make Kinsman Fun Day in Bodmin a great success this summer.
The money helped the Kinsman & Treningle Tenants and Residents Association arrange the event and meant they could purchase prizes for the children’s games and activities that were held throughout the day.
EEM’s funding has also had a direct impact on individual residents. One of our tenants, who has severe arthritis, received a laptop funded by EEM to help her access vital online services and stay connected. Her disability made trips to the library difficult, leaving her feeling isolated and unable to easily manage important tasks like contacting her doctor or filling out benefit forms. Thanks to the laptop, she can now access these services from the comfort of her home, reducing stress and improving her quality of life.
EEM is a not-for-profit group that helps public sector organisations save money and work more efficiently.
Thank you EEM for your commitment to improving the lives of our residents and communities.
