Community drop-in at Kinsman Hub connects residents with local support

Residents recently gathered at the Kinsman Community Hub for the latest monthly drop-in session, bringing together local services and support organisations in one welcoming space. 

Housing Officer Helena Rance was joined by Community Safety Officer Adam Kerecsenyi and Rents Management Officer, Felicity Gronkowski, who were on hand to talk with residents and offer advice on a range of topics including rent queries, Universal Credit, tenancy matters and community safety concerns.

The drop-in sessions take place on the first Tuesday of every month and provide a welcoming space where residents can ask questions, raise concerns and connect with local services.

Helena said the sessions are a valuable way to meet residents face-to-face.

“It’s a great opportunity for residents to speak with us in an informal setting and get advice or support with whatever they need. We also had several residents stop by just to share their thanks for previous projects in the community, which was really nice to hear.”

The sessions also bring together other local organisations to provide wider support. Bodmin Way Community Health and Wellbeing workers attend to offer advice around health and wellbeing, while the Grace Project has begun attending regularly and brings clothing for children and families who may need extra support.

Debbie Bristow, Community Health and Wellbeing Worker from Bodmin Way, said the initiative helps strengthen connections within the community.

“This is a grassroots project designed to increase engagement within the local community and improve health and wellbeing. By bringing services together in a familiar setting, residents can easily access the support they need.”

By attending the Kinsman Hub sessions each month, Cornwall Housing staff are helping ensure residents have easy access to support, advice and the right services when they need them.
