Oaklands Community Centre is celebrating its second year serving the Saltash community, with Cornwall Housing extending warm congratulations to the committee and all involved.

At their open AGM in July, Committee Officers James, Jackie, Hazel and Nicky were re-elected to continue their fantastic work in the coming year.

A special moment of thanks was given to Hilary Frank, who is stepping down due to other Council commitments. Hilary has been a driving force from the very beginning, helping to shape Oaklands into the thriving community hub it is today. In recognition of her dedication, the committee presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

The Centre continues to flourish, with exciting developments in its garden, including raised planters for vegetables and pollinator-friendly plants. Oaklands is also working closely with the Grenfell Avenue community allotment to bring people together around growing and gardening.

This year has also seen the launch of new groups and activities, such as Little Acorns, Monday Moments, Veteran Friends, the Garden Group and a monthly food larder - further strengthening Oaklands’ role as a welcoming space for all.
