A Cornwall Housing home in Bodmin has once again been transformed into a festive landmark, as local resident Daniel Goodyear brings Christmas magic to the community for the ninth consecutive year.
Daniel has spent more than two and a half months decorating his mum Jeanette’s home on St Piran Close, covering the property with miles of lights, giant candy canes, tinsel and a striking 20-foot Christmas tree made entirely from illuminated decorations.
The display is open to the public every evening from 5pm to 9pm and is free to visit. As part of the experience, Daniel hosts a Santa’s Grotto, where he dresses as Santa and gives out free gifts to children, with families often queuing along the street to take part.
The attraction has grown year on year, drawing an estimated 1,500 visitors in one recent weekend alone. Visitors have travelled from as far as 200 miles away, with the display also gaining attention internationally, including in Canada and the Netherlands.
Although attendance is free, visitors are encouraged to make small donations, with this year’s fundraising supporting the Fire Fighters Charity.
We are proud to support residents like Jeanette and Daniel, whose efforts bring joy, generosity and togetherness to their local community during the festive season.
