We have picked our Charities of the Year for 2024. Each year we choose two Cornish charities to support that are important to us, our staff and to the people of Cornwall.

How does Cornwall Housing support its Charities of the Year?
  • we promote the charities throughout the year to our staff and residents
  • our staff fundraise for them in their own time

Staff Fundraising

Raising money for miles! Our Staff Charity Miles Day 2024

Our staff held their first charity fundraiser of the year at the end of January. The aim of the day was to raise money for our charities of the year, whilst helping staff to think about their own wellbeing.

Staff were encouraged to get involved by taking a few extra steps throughout the day and recording the distance they had travelled. This could include parking further away from the office, heading to the gym, or taking a lunchtime walk with colleagues.

The money and miles have been counted up so far. Together, we raised £145 and covered more than 20 miles combined! This money will go directly to Georgia’s Voice and Man Down Cornwall.

Richard Lewis, Chair of our Health and Wellbeing Committee, said: “Thank you to every member of staff who took part in the day. It was great to get out with colleagues at lunch, take a stroll and get some fresh air. We’ve raised a fantastic amount of money and I’m looking forward to raising even more for our very worthy charities this year.”
