Providing you with the lifeline to your independence.

The Independent Living Service

The Cornwall Housing Independent Living Service offers a 24 hour 'Lifeline Alarm,' providing an instant response at the touch of a button. The service provides a home safety and personal security system that enables people to live independently within their own homes. This is achieved through the clever combination of a 24 hour telephone link to the monitoring centre through your Lifeline home unit. We also offer additional services in the form of Fall Detectors (linked to Lifeline), Wireless Smoke Alarms (linked to Lifeline) and Key Safes.

Benefits of the Lifeline Alarm

The service makes a real difference to people’s lives, not only for those using the service to maintain their independence, but also their families and loved ones.

  • Instant response: Our highly skilled operators respond to your call and take the appropriate action to get the help you need when you need it
  • Personal service: Friendly and dignified service
  • Complete reassurance: 24 hour link to the monitoring centre

How does the Lifeline Alarm work?

The service involves the provision of a telephone link 24 hours a day between your home and the monitoring centre. All that is required is a telephone line and an electrical power point. Should you press your pendant, or the button on the Lifeline Alarm, a message is sent to the monitoring centre where trained operators take the most appropriate action, whether it be contacting a family member, neighbour, doctor or the emergency services.

When can I use the Lifeline Alarm?

The system can be used at any time of the day or night, 365 days a year. Whatever the reason, if you hear a sound in the middle of the night, if you have an accident or incident in the home or suffer from a medical emergency the operator will arrange help as quickly as possible. The operator is also there to provide friendly support with a reassuring voice to alleviate any distress or to put your mind at rest.
