Permission to discuss

How to give someone permission to discuss your tenancy

We can’t discuss your tenancy with anyone who isn’t on your tenancy agreement unless you give us permission. This is also called advocacy consent.

You may want to give advocacy consent to a trusted friend, relative, or support agency so they can discuss your tenancy on your behalf.

When giving someone advocacy consent, you can choose:

which parts of your tenancy the other person has permission to discuss with us (for example repairs, your rent account)
how long you want to give this permission for

To give permanent advocacy consent to someone, you must fill in and return the Advocacy consent form. You can contact us for a copy of this or print, complete and return the form by post to Cornwall Housing, Chy Trevail, Bodmin, PL31 2FR

You will need to complete a separate form for each person you want to give advocacy consent to.

You can give someone temporary advocacy consent over the phone. We will ask you some questions to confirm your identity.
