Garages available to rent

Am I eligible?

• Garages are available to rent to both non council tenants and council tenants
• If you are a tenant with arrears you will not be considered eligible for garage rental
• We reserve the right to refuse applications if you do not live locally to the garage location

Garage Rent increases from 01 April 2024 

• Council Tenants - from £12.17 to £13.12 per week inclusive of VAT
• Non-Council Tenants - £16.88 to £18.20 per week

Weekly rent from 01 April 2024

• £18.20* for non-council tenants 
• £13.12 for a council tenant

Monthly rent from 01 April 2024

• £80.38* for non-council tenants
• £57.95 for a council tenant

*Inclusive of VAT

Applicants must pay the rent monthly by direct debit, with one month’s rent in advance prior to receiving keys. Applicants are required to provide the following information at the sign up appointment:

1. proof of ID and proof of address (utility bills, bank statements and tenancy agreements will be acceptable)
2. bank details for direct debit mandate
3. monthly payment (shown above) by credit card or cheque, made payable to Cornwall Council for the first month’s rent

Please note that it could take up to 4 weeks from application to getting the garage tenancy. 

Garages currently available:

We are reviewing the letting of garages to make sure these are let appropriately, that residents can be supported through the process, and that properties are in the right condition.  This means we have temporarily suspended the letting of garages until 3rd June 2024. 

We understand that this may be disappointing for some residents, but please be assured we are working towards re-opening services for garage lets at the earliest opportunity.
