How to give someone permission to discuss your tenancy

We can’t discuss your tenancy with anyone who isn’t on your tenancy agreement unless you give us permission. This is also called advocacy consent.

You may want to give advocacy consent to a trusted friend, relative, or support agency so they can discuss your tenancy on your behalf.

When giving someone advocacy consent, you can choose:

  • which parts of your tenancy the other person has permission to discuss with us (for example repairs, your rent account)
  • how long you want to give this permission for

You can give permission by post, by email or in person
