PH Jones to carry out gas service checks

PH Jones to help Cornwall Housing carry out gas service checks 

Cornwall Housing will be using a new contractor, PH Jones, to help support our gas servicing programme – it’s all part of our commitment to keeping residents safe in their homes.

PH Jones will work on behalf of Cornwall Housing by carrying out gas service checks that are due over the coming year.

The gas service checks help to prevent faults with our heating systems, which if left could lead to a gas escape, fire, or carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mark Statton, Head of Building Safety, said: “With this assistance, we are working towards an MOT style service, allowing gas engineers to service properties every 10-12 months. I’d like to thank PH Jones for their support at this important time to keep improving services for tenants and keep residents safe.”

Currently, PH Jones will be focussed on helping with gas servicing and any follow up work needed through the checks.

PH Jones, part of British Gas, operates nationally across the Social Housing Sector undertaking Service, Repairs and Installations across multiple councils and housing associations throughout the UK.  The organisation’s track record for health and safety is excellent and it was awarded a RoSPA Gold Medal in 2022 for achieving 9 consecutive years of gold awards.

Cornwall Housing will continue to work with Cornwall Facilities Ltd for any other works and our priority remains to improve compliance standards of the business and for all our properties.

Cornwall Housing will be contacting tenants via post who have gas servicing appointments on or after 14 August 2023. These letters will inform tenants to expect PH Jones as their new contractor.

All operatives will provide tenants with proof of ID and will be wearing a British Gas or PH Jones uniform.  If you are unsure that an operative is genuine, please call us on 0300 1234 161.
