Residents at Trecarn, our Independent Living Scheme in Launceston, now have a refreshed and welcoming outdoor space to enjoy thanks to a fantastic collaborative effort between our Rangers and Engagement teams last week.

The project focused on improving the communal area so residents can make the most of the outdoor space during the summer months. Old wooden furniture was restored with careful sanding and several layers of colourful paint, helping to brighten the environment and create a more inviting atmosphere.

New planters filled with evergreen plants were added, while the greenhouse was fully cleaned and prepared for use. One resident has already planted vegetable seeds, with hopes that more residents will become involved in growing vegetables and plants in the future.

In the after photo, the greenhouse is clean and organised, ready for growing! To complete the transformation, brand-new patio furniture was assembled and placed under the shelter, creating a comfortable space for residents to relax and socialise.

A huge thank you goes to the Estate Rangers - Frank, Trevor, and Shane - who went above and beyond alongside Engagement Officer Julia  and Lead Engagement Officer Frankie to make the project such a success. Their hard work has helped Trecarn flourish into a brighter space for residents.
