We’re excited to let residents know that the Spring/Summer Community Walkabouts schedule is ready to view!

These walkabouts are part of our ongoing commitment to keeping neighbourhoods safe, secure and pleasant places where people feel proud to live.

Community Walkabouts involve officers from across Cornwall Housing joining Councillors and tenant representatives to tour local estates, inspecting conditions and identifying areas for improvement. On larger estates, these walkabouts provide an opportunity to review communal spaces, discuss concerns and ensure estates remain clean, safe and well-maintained.

Cornwall Housing works closely with a range of partners to manage neighbourhoods effectively. Cornwall Council oversees grounds maintenance, refuse collection (including bulky items), fly-tipping, recycling, abandoned vehicles, dogs, and pest control. Their Planning Department handles trees, while private contractors take care of communal cleaning in blocks of flats. Additionally, Cornwall Council collaborates with service providers for refuse and recycling and for recycling.

Residents who notice issues with any of these services are encouraged to report them to their Neighbourhood Housing Officer. During Community Walkabouts, these reports are reviewed and addressed wherever possible, ensuring that neighbourhoods remain places residents are happy to call home.
