Tenant parking

Many of Cornwall's roads, towns and villages were designed and built to cope with far fewer vehicles than are on the road today and we know that parking is a contentious issue for most.

To assist in managing the problem in and around our estates the council has included the following guidelines in the tenancy conditions:

  • You must not park any vehicle on any part of the estate or block where your home is (including the garden of your home) except in a garage or other place approved by us. You must not park anywhere that would obstruct the emergency services.
  • You must not park an illegal, un-taxed or un-roadworthy vehicle on the land around your home or on the road or on any communal hard standing, parking bay or forecourt or anywhere else on the estate.
  • You must not park any caravan, boat or trailer on any communal hard standing, parking bay or forecourt or anywhere else on the estate, unless you have our written permission.

The council continues to work in partnership with local councillors, tenants' representatives, tenants and community development colleagues to find positive solutions to parking problems.
